The MULAI sweater is a pattern for those who appreciate timeless silhouettes, with a keen eye for proportions and carefully considered details. The classic neckline finished with ribbing, along with more fitted hems and cuffs, create a cohesive, minimalist look. The MULAI sweater features a thicker, more substantial fabric, achieved by using three strands of yarn: two strands of MY TIME MERINO and one strand of MOHSILKO.
The sweater shown in the photos was made using a combination of two strands of MY TIME MERINO in Grey Dust (9400) and one strand of MOHSILKO in Grey Dust (4400).
In the photos, the designer is wearing size M (height: 174 cm).
You’ll find more information about the project, gauge swatch, yarn requirements, and accessories below.
The sweater is worked seamlessly from the top down, partly in rows and partly in the round. It is worked in stockinette stitch, with 1×1 ribbing.
You begin by working the back of the sweater, shaping the sloping shoulders using German Short Rows. You then continue working the back until you reach the underarm. Next, the right and left front sections are worked in rows, while simultaneously shaping the neckline. The two sections are then joined, and the front is worked until you reach the underarm.
The front and back are then joined and worked in the round until you reach the ribbing.
The sleeves are picked up and worked in the round, with decreases worked simultaneously to shape them. The collar is then picked up and and worked in the round in 1×1 rib.
