Our yarns started... with a spinning wheel!
"I remember my grandfather raising sheep and shearing them so my grandmother could make her own yarn, because, as she used to say, "knots on knitting needles." I still have a few pairs of woolen socks she knitted for me. Her spinning wheel still stands in my family home. It was in Norway that I learned everything I know about wool. I learned the production process of various fibers and took home more than one handmade sweater. And there was a time when I brought my grandmother yarn because Poland lacked natural yarn. Returning home, I thought: I want to change that."

Because it's good to knit
We've woven our GABOs across generations, from shared memories and experience. Here you'll find soft yarns made from alpaca, merino, mohair, and sheep's wool. Plus, we've got plenty of inspiration, patterns, and knitting accessories.
We care about natural ingredients because we know that knitting is good!
Since the brand's inception, we've aimed to offer only yarns with natural ingredients. Carefully selected, high-quality fibers are our priority. All our yarns are produced in Peru and within the EU.
What is worth knowing about GABO wool?
Mulesing involves surgically removing sections of skin from the tail area of a sheep to prevent fly larvae (myiasis). Our fibers are sourced from sheep in South America, where mulesing is not practiced .
We only work with European "dya stuff" brands that guarantee compliance with the most demanding environmental and quality standards.
All dyes we use are heavy metal-free, AZO-free and comply with REACH and OEKO-TEX standards.
Respect for the environmentWe strive to be environmentally responsible. We package your orders exclusively in fully recyclable, FSC-certified cardboard packaging. We secure the contents in kraft paper, which is also biodegradable and 100% recyclable.
Only natural fibersThe GABO assortment features exclusively natural yarns, free from nylon, acrylic, or other petroleum-based fibers. We encourage you to make informed choices in harmony with nature!
