More information about the project can be found below.

WIKI balaclava is knitted with two strands held together, top to bottom, using a stockinette stitch. It begins by working the crown in rows. After the crown is knitted, the stitches for the main piece are picked up along both lines of edge stitches and joined with the live stitches of the crown. Work continues in rows until the lines along the face are completed, which are then shaped by increasing stitches on both sides of the fabric. Then, on the front, stitches are added to join the sides, and the entire piece is worked in the round from that point on. The balaclava is finished with a 1x1 rib. Finally, around the face opening, the stitches are picked up and worked in a 1x1 rib stitch, after which the pleat is folded in half and joined with the cast-on line.
