You can find more information about the project below.
The sweater is worked seamlessly in stockinette stitch from the top down. The construction features a modified drop shoulder and a so-called European shoulder seam, in which the shoulder line is shifted towards the back of the garment. Work begins by casting on stitches for the back yoke, which is worked flat. While working the back yoke, stitches are increased for the shoulders and later for the armholes. Once the back is complete, stitches are picked up along the shoulder edges for the left and right fronts separately, and these are also worked flat at first. During this stage, stitches are increased to shape the neckline. The two fronts are then joined and worked flat until all armhole increases have been completed. Next, the front and back are joined, and the body is worked in the round. Once the desired body length has been reached, the body is divided into front and back sections and finished with 3x3 ribbing. The sleeves are worked in the round. They are initially shaped using German Short Rows, followed by a sequence of decreases, and finished with 3x3 ribbing. The neckline is finished with a double neckband.
DIFFICULTY: intermediate
GAUGE:
20 sts x 29 rows/rnds = 10 x 10 cm [4 x 4 in]
in stockinette stitch flat and in the round on 4.5 mm [US 7] needles
The swatches should be washed and blocked flat, without stretching.
