Kit for knitting the PRIMA poncho from the third issue of GABO magazine. Design by Sonia Kamińska @quitecozyknits
The poncho in the photos was made using a combination of yarns: MY TIME MERINO in Burgundy (9212) and MOHSILKO in Burgundy (4212).
You can find more information about the project below.
The poncho is worked seamlessly from the top down with three strands of yarn held together (2 strands of My Time Merino and 1 strand of Mohsilko). First, stitches are cast on for the back and shoulder tabs, which are worked in rows while shaping the neckline using the Staggered Start method. Stitches are then cast on for the front neckline, and the work is joined in the round. The shoulder line is shaped with increases. Once the required width has been reached, the work is continued without further increases until the desired length is achieved. It is then divided into front and back sections, which are worked separately in rows. The elongated, asymmetrical point is shaped with decreases. Once the point shaping is complete, the neckline and bottom edge are finished with an I-cord edging.
