Kit for knitting the NANCY vest from the third issue of GABO magazine. Design by Magdalena Włosek @heklovane
The vest in the photos was made using a combination of yarns: MY TIME MERINO color Olive Green (9612) and MOHSILKO Olive Green (4612).
More information about the project can be found below.
The vest is worked seamlessly from the top down in stockinette stitch, holding two strands of yarn together throughout. The work begins by casting on stitches for the back, which is shaped using German Short Rows. Next, stitches are picked up separately for the right and left fronts. While working the fronts, the neckline is shaped first, followed by the armholes once the fronts have been joined. When the required length has been reached, the front and back are joined. The body is finished with a stockinette-stitch folded hem, which is turned to the inside and sewn in place. The armholes are finished with bands worked using Double Knitting. Finally, a long turtleneck is worked in stockinette stitch and finished with an I-cord Bind Off.
